Common questions
When do train tickets go on sale?
60 days before departure, from 10:00 local time at the origin station, on eticket.railway.uz. Each passenger is booked against the passport they will carry. Details and refund rules are in the booking guide.
How long is the train journey from Tashkent to Samarkand, and how much does it cost?
About 2 h 20 to 2 h 30 min by Afrosiyob, with economy at 311,000 som, business 455,000 and VIP 709,000 per passenger since 1 February 2026. See the Tashkent to Samarkand guide and the Afrosiyob and Sharq guide.
Which Tashkent station do trains leave from?
Toshkent Markaziy (Central, also called North) for the fast trains named on these pages; Toshkent Janubiy (South) is a different station. Match the one printed on your ticket before ordering a taxi.
Is there a train between Bukhara and Khiva?
Yes. From 9 September 2026, train 706 leaves Buxoro-1 at 15:45 and reaches Khiva at 20:25, every day except Monday; train 707 makes the return journey from 09:55 to 14:32 every day except Tuesday. The Bukhara to Khiva guide compares it with a private car.
